NEW YORK (AFP) ― Stevie Wonder will perform his classic album “Songs in the Key of Life” in full as he embarks on a rare tour across North America starting in November.
The blind Motown legend will launch the 11-date tour at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Nov. 6 to play the 1976 double album, which featured hits such as “Isn’t She Lovely” and “I Wish.”
Wonder decided on the tour after playing “Songs in the Key of Life” in full in December at his annual Los Angeles charity concert which raises money to provide holiday gifts for low-income children.
The tour will be the 64-year-old singer-keyboardist’s first across the United States since 2009. A presale for tickets starts on Tuesday.
Wonder has remained a regular presence at festivals, playing Montreux in Switzerland and Roskilde in Denmark among other European venues this summer.
