Martin, an office worker from the U.K., has lived in South Korea for nearly a year now. He recently tried to rent a car for his family. He contacted a number of car rental services, only to be disappointed at the lack of long-term vehicle rentals available for expats here.
He also found leasing to be a difficult and costly process. Then Martin discovered KB Capital auto-lease service for foreign residents, tailor-made for those who plan on spending an extended period of time in the country.
To provide more flexibility and make it easier for people like Martin to lease a car for a longer term, KB Capital has signed an exclusive partnership with Jaguar Land Rover, the U.K.’s largest automotive manufacturer. Jaguar Land Rover offers the first finance program tailored to expats through its partner KB Capital.

This is the first product of its kind in the market. The customized auto-lease service has fewer terms and conditions for expats when they rent cars, and KB said currently all models from the luxury British car brand were available in a wide range of terms, from 12 months to 56 months.
This appeared to be KB Capital’s way of offering a wider range of services for its customers, who are diversifying as Korea becomes increasingly multicultural ― as of this year, the number of foreigners in South Korea surpassed the 1.5 million mark.
“Our company believes we have found a new niche market in offering financial services to the foreign community,” said a KB Capital spokesman.
“We will continue to improve our financial services to make life more convenient for our foreign customers.”
