Cosmic Girls, a Korean-Chinese K-pop girl group, will stage its first showcase at a major e-sports event prior to their official debut, Starship Entertainment said Friday.
The 12-membered girl group, with six Korean members and the other half Chinese, will perform three songs, including the title track "MOMOMO" on its upcoming album, at the "KT GiGA Legend Match" on Saturday.
The pre-debut concert will take place five days before the girl group's official debut on Feb. 25.
"Cosmic Girls members are nervous about their first chance to meet their fans in the pre-debut showcase," Starship said in a press release.
The entertainment agency sees the tournament of Korea's top four "Starcraft" professional gamers as an excellent opportunity to introduce the girl group.
Cosmic Girls is the first fruit of the joint project between Starship and Yue Hwa, a major Chinese talent agency, drawing attention from both Korea and China.
With a week to go until its debut, the K-pop girl group has more than 670,000 followers on the Chinese social network platform Weibo. (Yonhap)
