Legendary idol boy band Sechs Kies may release a new album, 16 years after the six-member group disbanded in May 2000.
Sechs Kies, a first-generation K-pop boy band which debuted in 1997, held a reunion concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on April 14, as part of a project for MBC’s reality show “Infinite Challenge.”
The reunion concert was held one day before the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut. Despite the short notice, more than 5,000 fans gathered to see the group, with many showing up in yellow raincoats and balloons in line with the group’s official color.

All six members -- Eun Ji-won, Kang Sung-hoon, Kim Jae-duk, Lee Jae-jin, Jang Su-won, Ko Ji-yong -- have agreed to release a new album, resuming their activities as a K-pop idol group, reported local media, quoting an industry insider.
Since the group’s members are signed under different agencies, they have discussed whether to establish a separate agency for the group or have the members’ agencies coordinate, added the industry insider.
Although details have not been confirmed, the group will hold a concert at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul at the end of June. This will be followed by the release of a new album, the report said.
