May 24, 2016 - 14:29 By KH디지털2
Singer-songwriter Baek A-yeon swept domestic music charts Tuesday with her new single “So-so.”

“So-so,” which was released at midnight on Monday, has emerged top on eight music charts -- MelOn, Genie, Mnet, Naver Music, Olleh Music, Bugs, Soribada and Monkey3.

The new song, written and composed by Baek, is a neo-urban tune speaking for singles who don’t expect dramatic romance, but hope to fall in love with somebody.

The dilemma of many singles is captured in the lyrics that are sung in her clear ringing voice: “Whenever I meet somebody, it is so-so, being alone is so-so, as well.”

Baek first appeared as a contestant on the first season of the SBS music competition show “K-pop Star” in 2011. She made it to the top three of the show, along with Park Ji-min and Lee Hi.

She debuted with the mini album “I’m Baek” under JYP Entertainment in 2012, and slayed music charts with her last single “Shouldn’t Have,” which was also written and composed by herself. It was released in May 2015.

Along with “So-so,” Baek also released “To Say,” telling the story of a woman breaking up with her lover.
