A U.S. university will offer a public administration course on Seoul City for their graduate program, officials here said Tuesday.
According to Seoul Metropolitan Government, Central Michigan University signed a memorandum of understanding with the capital and will offer a graduate-level course on the capital which includes a week-long fieldtrip to Seoul.
Seoul City officials say that the Central Michigan University will be the 10th U.S. university to offer a case study course of the capital.
During the fieldtrip students will attend briefings by Seoul City officials and visit various sites of current public management initiatives.
Central Michigan University professor Lawrence Sych hopes that this course could lead to more exchange between Seoul City and the state of Michigan, as quoted by capital officials.
In 2009, Seoul City signed a similar MOU with Cornell University’s Cornell Institute of Public Affairs. The class, “Comparative Public Administration: The Case of Seoul, Korea,” also offers a week-long fieldtrip to the city.
