The two-day High-Level Forum on Korea-LAC Partnership began in Seoul on Wednesday.
Held for the third time, high-level officials from 11 Latin American countries including First Vice President of Costa Rica Alfio Piva Mesen are attending the event.
The main topic of this year’s discussions are ways to increase cooperation between Korea and Latin American nations in the field of trade, investment, energy and green growth, plus industrial plants and infrastructure. The attending Latin American officials will also meet with local businesses to discuss investment opportunities.
From the Korean side, minister and vice-minister level officials from concerned government agencies, and representatives of research and business organizations are attending the event.
Saying that Korea was promoting “low carbon green growth,” Korean Trade Minister Kim Jong-hoon said at the forum that Korea is seeking collaboration with Latin American nations in related fields.
