Samsung Electronics has received the Best in Show award for its 70-inch “Ultra Definition” 3-D technology at this year’s Display Week 2011, the company said on Thursday.
The Society for Display, a leading global organization dedicated to electronic display technology and organizer of the event, announced the selection of Samsung Electronics at Display Week, which is being held in Los Angeles this week starting on Tuesday.
Samsung’s 3-D technology was developed with oxide semiconductor TFT technology and boasts a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels.
Samsung said the super-large display is the “world’s first” 70-inch ultra-definition 240Hz LCD panel to date.
Each year, engineers, manufacturers, researchers, and many others in the electronic-information-display industry gather at Display Week for access to a huge range of display-related technologies and applications.
These include high-definition flat-panel displays, OLEDs, flexible displays, plastic electronics, large-area projection systems and others.
