Police in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, filed an arrest warrant Thursday against a man, 33, who sexually assaulted and stole from a 20-year-old woman he followed home.

The victim was returning home alone at around 3 a.m. Wednesday after finishing her part-time shift near a library in Yeongdeung-dong. The attacker, surnamed Jeong, threatened her with a weapon and sexually assaulted her.

Jeong took pictures of the victim’s naked body and threatened to circulate them online if she called the police.

He also took her ID card and 13,000 won in cash.

Jeong’s offense was premeditated, as he waited for women who went home alone with weapons hidden in his car, police investigations revealed.

“We were able to make a quick arrest because the victim called the police quickly,” said a police official. “Her courage has helped prevent there being more victims.”

혼자 귀가하는 여성 따라가 성폭행

전북 익산경찰서는 28일 귀가하는 여성을 성폭행하고 금품을 빼앗은 혐의(강도강간 등)로 정모씨에 대해 구속영장을 신청했다.

정씨(33)는 전날 오전 3시께 익산시 영등동의 한 도서관 앞에서 아르바이트를 마치고 귀가하던 A(20ㆍ여)씨를 흉기로 위협해 성폭행하고 현금 1만3천원을 빼앗은 혐의를 받고 있다.

정씨는 또 A씨의 주민등록증을 빼앗고 나체 사진을 찍어 신고하면 인터넷에 유포하겠다고 협박한 혐의도 받고 있다.

정씨는 자신의 승용차에 흉기를 미리 준비한 뒤 혼자 귀가하는 여성을 노려 범행을 저지른 것으로 드러났다.

경찰 관계자는 "피해자가 사건이 발생한 뒤 짧은 시간 안에 신고해 피의자를 신속하게 검거할 수 있었다"며 "피해자의 용기 있는 판단으로 추가 피해를 막을 수 있었다"고 말했다. (코리아헤럴드)
