Five teenage members of a motorcycle gang assaulted a drunken man, apparently copying scenes from a violent video game, police said on Tuesday.

They attacked the 31-year-old man, who was sitting on the curb of a road in Gwanak-gu, southern Seoul, at around 4 a.m. on Sunday.

Police believe they were trying to copy a scene from “Grand Theft Auto IV.”

The computer game, rated over-18, features the main character wielding guns and escaping in stolen vehicles including motor bikes. The teens did not have a gun.

The police said they requested arrest warrants for two of the teens and booked the three other attackers without detention.

조사 결과 A 군 등은 같은 날 새벽 오토바이의 등록 번호판을 접어 가린 채 인천시 계산동에서 서울 신림동 까지 1시간 40분에 걸쳐 신호위반, 중앙선침범 역주행, 지그재그 운전 등 난폭운전을 하며 시민들에게 위해를 가하고 인터넷 게임 ‘그랜드테프트오토4’(GTA4.Grand Theft Auto 4)을 모방해 아무 이유없이 B 씨를 폭행한 것으로 드러났다.

‘GTA4’는 오토바이를 타고 도주하거나 총으로 사람을 죽이는 내용 등이 담겨있는 미성년자 이용불가 등급의 게임이다.
