Herald Media has appointed Yoo Byung-chang, former president of POSCO ICT, as its chief executive officer and publisher.
Yoo, 61, succeeds Park Haeng-hwan, who is retiring after three years in the post.
Yoo will take office on March 2 as CEO and publisher of Herald Media, which publishes The Korea Herald, The Herald Business, The Junior Herald and The Campus Herald.

The new CEO has held a variety of posts at POSCO since he joined the steel company in 1975. He served as head of the company’s Washington office, senior vice president of USS-POSCO Industries, president of POSCO America Corp., senior vice president of corporate communications for POSCO and chief executive officer and president of POSCO ICT.
He also served as chairman of the Korea Software Industry Association.
Yoo was born in Seoul and studied business administration at Sogang University, from which he has a bachelor’s degree.
