Police said on Wednesday they raided the home of a man who installed hidden cameras in the women’s bathroom at his work.

“The suspect confessed that his obsession with a specific body part of women was the reason for the crime,” said an official at Anseong Police Station.

The 28-year old man allegedly bought small cameras online and installed them in the bathroom to film female colleagues at his workplace, a manufacturer located in Anseong, Gyeonggi province.

The suspect is accused of recording images of about 100 women more than 270 times at his company as well as at subway stations and on buses from July 2010.

The police stormed the man’s house in November and discovered an external hard drive containing 6.7 gigabytes of video files.

Police plan to seek an arrest warrant after completing the initial investigation.

20대男, '몰카'로 직장 女화장실 촬영 

경기 안성경찰서는 14일 회사 여자화장실에 카메라를 설치, 여성들을 촬영한 혐의(성폭력범죄의 처벌등에 관한 특례법 위반)로 A(28)씨를 붙잡아 조사 중이다.

A씨는 지난해 11월 자신이 근무하는 안성시 소재 반도체 부품 제조회사 여자화장실에 소형 카메라를 설치한 뒤 동료 여성들을 촬영하는 등 2010년 7월부터 이때까지 회사와 대형마트, 지하철역, 버스 등에서 여성 100여명의 치마 속을 270여차례 촬영한 것으로 조사됐다.

A씨는 인터넷을 통해 구매한 소형 카메라에 휴대전화 배터리를 연결, 사제 '몰래카메라'를 만들어 여자화장실 변기에 설치한 것으로 드러났다.

A씨는 이 몰래카메라에 자신의 얼굴이 찍히는 바람에 덜미를 잡혔다.

지난해 11월 A씨의 집을 압수수색한 경찰은 500G짜리 외장하드에 A씨가 찍은 6.

7G분량의 몰래카메라 영상이 저장됐다 지워진 흔적을 포착, 복원시켜 범행일체를 자 백받았다.

경찰 한 관계자는 "A씨는 여성의 특정 신체부위에 집착해 범행했다고 진술했다"

며 "컴퓨터에는 일반적인 음란물은 거의 없었고, 대부분 몰래카메라로 찍은 종류가 많았다"고 전했다.

경찰은 조사가 마무리되는대로 A씨에 대한 구속영장을 신청할 계획이다.
