Korea, China to discuss IT partnership

May 29, 2012 - 19:53 By Korea Herald
The Korean government will hold an information technology forum on Wednesday in China to seek cooperation in the surging global IT market, the nation’s state-run trade agency said Tuesday.

The Korea-China IT Global Initiative, organized by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy along with the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency, will be held at the Suzhou Industrial Park, China’s largest IT cluster in Jianasu province.

During the morning session, CCID Consulting, China’s leading IT consulting firm, will analyze current trends in the global IT industry and its leadership, followed by discussions by major firms such as Korea’s SK Hynix and China’s Gerad Technology.

One-on-one meetings with 14 participating Korean firms, such as Komico and Shinsung E&G, will also be arranged for potential business partnerships with China’s big buyers in the fields of semiconductor, displays and telecommunications.

“Korea and China, equipped with technologies and quick response to market trends, are emerging as global IT market leaders,” said a KOTRA official.

“This event will help Korean firms find new sales channels in China as well as strengthen the IT partnership between the two countries.”
