Kim Ki-woong, chief executive officer of Korea Business News, a business news cable TV channel, was named president of the Korea Economic Daily at meetings of the daily’s shareholders and board on Tuesday.

The 59-year-old new president graduated from Hanyang University with a journalism major, and joined the Korea Economic Daily in 1980, where he held various positions including managing editor and director.

He served as chief executive of Korea Business News from 2005 to early this month.
