Lotte to volunteer with customers

Jan. 22, 2013 - 19:14 By Korea Herald
Lotte Department Store on Tuesday said it is planning a series of events to jointly pursue volunteer projects with its customers, such as by inviting them to join programs for offering medical aid with the help of local doctors’ organizations.

The department store has already issued the invitations via its website. The campaign involves both Lotte employees and the company’s customers, who will together with the Korean Open Doctors Society offer their aid to the underprivileged throughout the year starting next month.

As the first step in the campaign, the department store will form a group of around 200 individuals, including 60 doctors from the open doctors’ society and some 130 Lotte employees, who will make rounds at the homes of seniors on their own to give them medical help.

The company said it had decided to expand the scope of its campaign to more closely work with its customers in making social contributions.
