The 2018 Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Riverside Concert will be held on Saturday at Yeouido Hangang Park, featuring a wide range of music, from classical music concertos to collaborations with renowned local folk musicians.
Conductor Christopher Lee will lead the orchestra for the evening concert, while singer-songwriter Jang Phil-soon, and guitarist Haam Choon-ho will perform with the orchestra.

The evening concert will start at 7:30 p.m. with the SPO’s performance of Wagner‘s Rienzi Overture and the third movement of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade Op.35.
Following the two classical music pieces are collaborations between the Seoul-based orchestra and singer-songwriter Jang, as well as guitarist Haam. The orchestra will perform orchestral rearrangements of pieces by Jang and Haam. Guitarist Haam and the orchestra will also perform the rearranged versions of Henry Mancini’s “Moon River” and “Arirang,” which Haam introduced at Arirang Contemporary Series by Korean Traditional Performing Arts Foundation in 2017.
The SPO will play the theme songs from “Superman” and “Star Wars” by John Williams and close the outdoor concert with Tchaikovsky‘s 1812 Overture, Op. 49, accompanied with fireworks.
The annual riverside concert has taken place since 2011 at Yeouido Hangang Park.
