GM Korea to recall Orlando SUVs for engine start button problems

March 21, 2016 - 10:01 By KH디지털2
GM Korea, the local unit of U.S. carmaker General Motors, will recall 66,169 units of the Chevrolet Orlando SUV for problems with their engine start buttons, the transportation ministry said Monday.

The model's engine ignition button was found to not automatically return to its original position after the driver pushes it to start the engine.

The malfunction could lead to the engine suddenly shutting off during driving, said the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The problem has been detected in 66,169 Orlando SUVs produced between Dec. 23, 2010, and March 9, 2016.

GM Korea will announce a detailed repair schedule around June after securing the required components, the ministry added. (Yonhap)
