Won reappointed as head of KFA

Won Dae-yun, 66, chairman of Korea Fashion Association, was reappointed on Wednesday as head of the organization for another four-year term.

At the board meeting held on Wednesday at the Textile Center in Daechi-dong, southern Seoul, all 75 member companies of Korea Fashion Association agreed unanimously on Won’s reappointment as the 11th chairman of KFA.

Won, who was first appointed as head of the association in 2004, will serve in the post until 2015.

“I will do my best to protect the rights and interests of our member companies and work for the development of the fashion industry,” said Won in his acceptance speech.

Won is credited with successfully overseeing the completion of the fashion retail and logistics complex in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. He was also lauded for pushing for the passage of a fashion industry promotion bill and organizing the Korean Fashion Culture Centennial Awards last year.

In 1999 Won was appointed as the CEO of Cheil Industries. He headed the Samsung Art & Design Institute from 2002 to 2009.
