Film screening to kick off Francophone fest

March 13, 2012 - 19:14 By Korea Herald
The Canadian Embassy is holding a special film screening event Friday to celebrate the opening of La Francophonie Week.

The screening at the embassy’s Schofield Hall will show “L‘Enfant Prodige,” a Canadian film from 2010 about the real life of Quebec-born piano player and composer, Andre Mathieu.

The event will start at 4:30 p.m. with refreshments after the film.

At 7 p.m. TV personality and film critic Hong Eun Chul will lead a discussion (Korean-only) of the film with the audience.

The embassy said that Canada valued having two languages highly and the positive contribution that the French language had made to the country.
