Hollym Publishers is hosting lectures on Saturday by two Korean experts on art and traditional architecture.
Dr. Yi Song-mi, professor emerita of art history at the Academy of Korean Studies, will speak about Joseon art.
Her lecture “The Ethos of Koreans as Expressed in Late Joseon Art and Architecture; Citadel architecture, Portraiture, Landscapes and Genre Paintings” will run from 2-3:30 p.m.
Jo Jeon-hwan, coordinator of Yiyeon Hanoak, will talk about traditional houses in his lecture “The Hanok Architecture in Rhythm: Spirit of Traditional Korean Housing and its Contemporary Adaptation,” running from 3:40-5:10 p.m.
Yi’s talk will be in English, while Jo’s will be given simultaneously in English and Korean.

The lectures will be held at the international conference hall of the National Library of Korea’s National Librarian Training Institute. To get there leave Seocho Station Exit 1 and walk about 750 meters. The library is on the left.
