Ecsta Racing Team sponsored by Kumho Tire won a trophy at the 2016 CJ Korea Express Super Race, the company said Monday.

According to Kumho Tire, one of the Kumho team members Yuji Ide won the championship at the final eighth match held Sunday in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province. Another team member Jung Eui-chul ranked sixth, but was picked as the champion of this season, as his total scores from previous games held in other racing circuits in Korea, Japan and China dominated others.

Set up in 2014, Kumho Tire Ecsta Racing Team consists of three veteran drivers including former professional F1 racer Yuji Ide from Japan, singer and television talent Kim Jin-pyo as the team coach, and up-and-coming racer Jung Eui-chul. This is the team’s second victory since last year.

During six months of competition, the automobiles equipped with the company’s tires also won six games out of eight total matches, the company added.

“We are very pleased to have an outstanding team to win victory for two consecutive years and hope this will introduce the sports to a wider range of domestic audiences,” said the officials.
