South Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM is holding its largest Korean culture and music celebration, KCON, in Hong Kong for the first time this year.

KCON will kick off in Hong Kong, the sixth-biggest K-pop album importer, on March 30-31, organizer announced Thursday.

KCON Hong Kong 2024 is to be held at the AsiaWorld-Expo, one of the two major convention and exhibition facilities in Hong Kong capable of accommodating up to 10,000 visitors.

Previously, the MAMA Awards were held at this venue from 2013 to 2018.

CJ ENM is expected to present a star-studded lineup of major K-pop acts for the first KCON to be held in Hong Kong.

The event is then to be held in Japan on May 10-12, followed by KCON LA 2024 on July 26-28.

KCON is also set to be held in Europe and Saudi Arabia in the second half of the year, for which details are yet to be unveiled.

“KCON which has served as a platform where K-pop fans gather and experience the Korean culture, will further evolve this year to establish its identity as a K-pop festival that projects K-pop’s present and future,” said Shim Jun-beom, CJ ENM’s music content business head.
