18대 대선에서 대한민국 사상 첫 여성 대통령이 당선되었고 2012년 임진년을 마무리 할 시점이 다가오고 있다. 다가오는 한국의 2013년 계사년의 사주를 알아보자.

점술가 김덕영에 의하면 한 나라의 국운은 대통령의 사주와 밀접하다고 한다.

김씨는 5월 달에 자신이 운영하는 웹사이트에 당시 후보자였던 박근혜 당선인이 18대 대선에서의 당선을 확언하는 영상을 올려놓았다. 또한, 오바마의 2008년도 미국 대선 당선과 노무현의 2003년도 당선을 대선에 훨씬 앞선 시점에 예측했다.

김씨에 의하면 박 당선인은 임수가 강하여 파고드는 습성으로 접착력, 윤활유 역할이 뛰어나며, 불순물을 흡수하여 세상을 깨끗하게 만드는 능력이 있다고 했다. 임수가 강한 사람은 호기심이 많고, 배움을 추구하며, 경험해 보지 못한 것을 경험하려고 한다고 했다. 하지만 흙이 물의 흐름을 방해하듯이 흙과는 맞지 않는다고 말했다.

“임수가 강한 사람들은 마음이 따뜻하고 남을 잘 챙겨준다,”고 김씨는 말했다. “하지만 장애물이 있어도 흐르고자 하는 타고난 습성 때문에 분쟁에 휘말릴 요소를 안고 있다.”

김씨는 박 당선인의 정권이 안정되기 까지 초기에 혼동의 시간이 있을 것이라고 했다. 4월-7월에는 어려운 시간들이 찾아올 것이고 8월-9월에는 사람들과의 갈등시기가 있을 것이라고 말했다. “11월부터는 안정기가 찾아올 것이다.”고 김씨는 말했다. 

오행에 의하면 수기가 강한 사람들은 “차갑고 극기심이 강한 사람” 같아 보이지만 때로는 굉장히 창의적이고 가끔은 별나기까지 하다. “정적이고 휴식”의 요소가 위대한 아이디어와 혁신이 탄생하게 되는 요인이다.

“박 당선인의 사주를 보면 굉장히 예술에 상당한 재능을 갖고 있다,”고 김씨가 말했다. “미술과 문화 분야에 많은 노력을 기울일 것으로 보인다. 또한, 박 당선인은 태생적으로 베풀기를 좋아하는 사람이기에 복지 정책에 심혈을 기울일 것으로 보인다.”

김씨에 의하면 한미 관계에는 별다른 변화가 없을 것이라고 했다. 다섯 요소 중에서 미국은 금, 북한은 물에 해당한다. 임수가 강한 박 당선인은 물과 금 둘 다 잘 어울릴 것이다. 남북 관계에 큰 무리는 없을 듯 하다고 했다.

 “하지만 한중, 한일 관계는 다소 껄끄러울 것으로 보인다,” 고 김씨가 말했다. “중국이 토(土), 일본은 화(火)에 해당하기 때문이다. 박 당선인은 이 두 가지 요소와는 잘 어울리지 못했다.”

What’s Korea’s fortune for the New Year?

The presidential election is over, and the year 2012 is reaching its end. Korea is heading into a new year with its newly-elected, first female president. So what’s Korea’s fortune for the year 2013?

According to fortune teller Kim Deok-young, a nation’s fortune is inseparable from the “saju,” or four pillars of destiny, of its president.

The term saju describes the four components creating a person’s destiny or fate: the year, month, date, and hour of one’s birth.

Kim posted a video-clip on his website in May, publicly predicting Park would win the election. He also predicted Obama’s win in 2008 and the win of late President Roh Moo-hyun in 2003, far ahead of the election results.

The theory of saju is based on yin and yang and Wu Xing (O-hang in Korean). The concept of yin and yang, literally meaning “shadow and light,” is used to describe how contrary forces are interdependent on earth. Wu Xing, on the other hand, refers to five elements -- wood, fire, earth, metal, and water -- used to explain a wide range of phenomena in this world, including the cosmic cycles and succession of political regimes.

According to Kim, Park’s saju has many “imsu,” which literally means the energy of water. Imsu is supposed to be very absorbent, cold, always flowing, and has the ability to clean the world by absorbing the unclean. Imsu is also always curious, strives to learn and experience the unknown; it is however not compatible with earth, as dirt prevents it from flowing.

“People with much imsu tend to be genuinely caring toward others,” said Kim. “But they also get into conflicts and even legal trials, as it has the innate desire to flow no matter what the obstacles are.”

Kim said it’s likely that Park’s administration will need some time to become stable; the country’s economy will likely experience a difficult time between April and July, and Park is likely to get into conflicts with her members of staff between August and September. “It seems like things will start to get organized by November,” he said.

According to Wu Xing, water-type people can appear “cool and stoic,” but are often very creative and sometimes even a little eccentric. It is the element of “stillness and rest,” the element from which great ideas and innovations are born.

“Her saju says she is actually very artistic and talented in that area,” he said. “It seems like she’ll put a lot of efforts to improve arts and culture. She’s also an innately caring person, so it’s likely that she’ll do her best to come up with a decent welfare program.”

Meanwhile, Kim said Obama is facing a difficult year ahead of him.

“Money is the problem,” said Kim. “Which means the U.S. economy is still going downhill. The year 2014 could be worse for Obama. There is a chance that the country may get involved in serious military conflicts.”

However, Kim said the U.S.-Korea relationship will most likely remain the same. Among the Five Elements, the U.S. is of gold element, while North Korea is of water element, said Kim. Park, who is supposedly heavily influenced by imsu, is compatible with both water and gold.

“But Korea’s relationship with China and Japan may not go so well,” he said. “China is earth and Japan is fire. Park has never been very good with fire and earth.”
