A Los Angeles man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his father with a hammer.

City News Service says 45-year-old Jun Chang called 911 around noon Sunday and told officers who went to his home that he'd killed his father.

Police say it appears he struck his father, Sun Chang, in the head with a hammer.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder and remained jailed without bail Monday.

There's no immediate word on a motive for the attack. (AP)

미국 로스앤젤레스 지역에서 40대 한인 이 70대 아버지를 망치로 때려 살해하는 끔찍한 사건이 벌어졌다.

로스앤젤레스 데븐셔 경찰서는 로스앤젤레스 북쪽 채스워스에 사는  장준혁(45) 씨를 살인 혐의로 구속해 수사 중이라고 20일 (현지시간) 현지 언론이 보도했다.

경찰에 따르면 장 씨는 지난 18일 집에서 아버지 장선칠(78)씨를 망치로 때려 숨지게한 뒤 경찰에 전화를 걸어 "내가 아버지를 죽였다"고 신고했다.

전화를 받은 경찰이 출동했을 때 장 씨는 어머니와 함께 집에 있었고 아버지 장 씨는 주택 2층에서 숨져 있었다.

그러나 경찰은 범행 동기와 자세한 사건 경위는 밝히지 않았다.

범인 장씨는  부모와 거의 왕래가 없었으며 숨진 아버지와 불화가 있었던 것으로 알려졌다.
