The state-run Korea Gas Corp. made remarkable achievements last year in its sales and preparedness for possible cyberterrorism, company officials said Thursday.

In its report on the key achievements in 2014, the corporation said it posted a record net profit of 447 billion won.

It also grabbed the first place in a security inspection by the government for its better preparation for possible cyberattacks.

The company stated that it successfully hosted “Gastech 2014,” the largest international gas exhibitions to date, and also helped 22 small and medium enterprises enter into new markets by inviting them to the event.

In addition to business achievements, KOGAS officials said they have expanded the public welfare activities such as providing financial aid domestically and abroad and reducing gas prices for the poor, as well as improving the infrastructure for disadvantaged areas to ensure a more efficient heating system.
