National Anti-Corruption Commission passes parliament

Legislation has passed both houses of parliament allowing the establishment of a national anti-corruption commission. An amended version of the bill passed the senate last night giving the independent inspector more power to investigate the public service. The commission has bipartisan support despite the Greens and some cross benchers unsuccessfully calling for more public hearings and a larger scope.
