최근 각종 온라인 커뮤니티 사이트에서 볼펜 똥이 생기는 이유가 공개돼 화제가 되고 있다.게시글의 글쓴이는 볼펜 똥이 볼펜 내에 둥근 볼이 회전하면서 뭉쳐있던 유성잉크 일부가 한꺼번에 나온 것이라고 설명했다.
한편 볼펜 똥을 피하려면 잉크가 굳을 일 없는 수성펜을 쓰거나 글씨를 쓸 때 푹신한 받침을 활용할 수 있다고 전해졌다.

A recent article explaining the reason why pens leave behind messy lumps has gone viral on the nation‘s various online community websites.
The article said the residue comes from the round tip in ballpoint pens, where the oil-based ink amasses inside before the lump oozes out at once.
Using water-based pens instead or placing objects under the paper to smoothen the surface could minimize the problem.
