AFC축구 서울, 결승 1차전서 광저우와 무승부

'K리그 챔피언' FC서울이 2013 아시아축구연맹(AFC) 챔피언스리그 결승 1차전에서 '중국 챔피언' 광저우 에버그란데와 두 골씩 주고받는 혈투 끝에 승부를 내지 못했다.

서울은 26일 서울월드컵경기장에서 열린 광저우와의 2013 AFC 챔피언스리그 결승 1차전 홈 경기에서 1-2로 끌려가던 후반 38분 '몬테네그로 특급' 데얀의 극적인 동점골이 터지며 2-2로 힘겹게 비겼다.

결승 1차전에서 비긴 서울은 내달 9일 중국 광저우의 톈허 스타디움에서 광저우와 결승 2차전 원정을 통해 우승에 도전한다.

막강한 화력을 자랑하는 광저우를 상대로 서울은 '골잡이' 데얀을 최전방 원톱 스트라이커로 내세운 가운데 에스쿠데로에게 섀도 스트라이커를 맡겼다. '전천후 도우미' 몰리나와 고요한이 좌우 날개로 나섰고 중원은 하대성-고명진 조합이 중원을 담당했다.

수비에서는 무릎 부상에서 복귀한 '백전노장' 아디가 왼쪽 풀백으로 복귀했고, 경고누적으로 결장한 차두리 대신 최효진이 선발로 출전했다.

이에 맞선 광저우는 이적료 140억원에 달하는 다리오 콘카와 중국 대표팀 공격수 가오린을 필두로 무리키와 엘케손 등을 전방에 내세워 경기 초반부터 서울을 압박했다.

서울은 전반 8분 광저우의 콘카가 시도한 슈팅을 골키퍼 김용대가 선방하며 첫 위기를 넘겼고, 곧바로 이어진 역습 상황에서 에스쿠데로의 선제골이 터졌다.

전반 10분 에스쿠데로가 미드필드 지역 왼쪽에서 얻은 프리킥을 데얀이 재빠르게 전방으로 쇄도해 들어간 에스쿠데로에게 패스를 내줬다.

에스쿠데로는 볼을 잡고 단독 드리블한 뒤 페널티지역 중앙에서 광저우의 수비수 펑샤오팅과의 몸싸움을 이겨내며 오른발 슈팅으로 골 그물을 흔들었다.

하지만 선제골의 기쁨도 잠시. 서울은 전반 29분 세트피스 상황에서 광저우의 엘케손에게 헤딩 동점골을 허용하며 원점 승부로 돌아갔다.

광저우의 황보원이 차올린 코너킥을 엘케손이 골 지역 오른쪽 구석에서 번쩍 솟아올라 헤딩으로 서울의 골문을 열었다.

서울은 전반 45분 광저우의 콘카가 페널티지역 왼쪽에서 시도한 강한 슈팅을 김용대가 몸을 날려 추가 실점을 막아내며 전반을 마쳤다.

후반전 시작과 함께 서울은 몰리나의 패스를 받은 데얀이 페널티지역 왼쪽에서 슈팅을 시도했지만 골키퍼 선방에 막혀 뜻을 이루지 못했다.

서울은 공격에 치중하는 사이 수비진이 잠시 흔들리면서 역전골을 내주며 위기에 빠졌다.

후반 14분 엘케손이 오른쪽 측면에서 올린 크로스가 반대쪽으로 넘어갔고, 왼쪽 측면에서 오버래핑에 나선 순샹이 재차 올린 크로스를 골 지역 왼쪽에서 가오린이 볼의 방향을 바꿔 역전골을 꽂았다.

반격에 나선 서울은 후반 20분 고명진의 발끝에서 시작해 에스쿠데로를 거쳐 데얀까지 삼각패스가 이어졌고, 데얀이 페널티지역 왼쪽에서 강하게 슈팅했지만 광저우의 수비수 순샹이 몸을 던져 막아내 득점에 실패했다.

그러나 서울은 끝까지 포기하지 않았고, 마침내 '믿을맨' 데얀의 발끝에서 귀중한 동점골이 터져 나왔다.

서울은 후반 38분 왼쪽 측면을 돌파한 에스쿠데로가 내준 패스를 데얀이 페널티지역 중앙에서 잡아 광저우의 골대를 향해 호쾌한 동점골을 꽂으며 팀을 역전패의 위기에서 살려냈다. 에스쿠데로는 선제골에 이어 동점골까지 도움을 기록하며 '수훈갑'이 됐다.

FC Seoul draws Guangzhou in first leg of AFC Champions League final

FC Seoul scored a late equalizer to hold Guangzhou Evergrande to a 2-2 draw in the opening leg of the AFC Champions League final at home on Saturday.

At Seoul World Cup Stadium, striker Dejan Damjanovic scored the tying goal in the 82nd minute, saving the reigning K League Classic champion from the brink of a defeat.

The 2013 Asian club champion will be determined on the aggregate score after the second leg on Nov. 9 in Guangzhou.

With Guangzhou ahead 2-1 on a second-half go-ahead score by Gao Lin, Damjanovic received a cross from Sergio Escudero and took a low shot as he fell to the ground, just past the diving goalkeeper Zeng Cheng.

Both FC Seoul and Guangzhou are seeking their first AFC Champions League title. FC Seoul is the fifth consecutive South Korean club to reach the AFC final. Guangzhou is trying to win China's first Asian club title since Liaoning won the Asian Club Championship, the predecessor of the AFC Champions League, in 1990.

FC Seoul won the domestic K League Classic last year. Guangzhou secured its third consecutive Chinese Super League title earlier this month.

After the teams traded a goal apiece in the first half, Gao Lin netted the go-ahead goal for Guangzhou in the 58th minute, with a deft redirection on a Sun Xiang cross.

FC Seoul scrambled to draw even midway through the second half.

In the 65th, Dejan Damjanovic took a feed from Sergio Escudero deep in the Guangzhou zone, but goalkeeper Zeng Cheng denied the FC Seoul striker from a point blank range. Nine minutes later, fullback Choi Hyo-jin penetrated on the right wing but his hard shot went off the right side of the net.

Damjanovic finally delivered with his team-leading sixth goal of the AFC campaign, and FC Seoul fended off late Guangzhou charge to preserve the draw.

In the opening half, Escudero put the home club out in front in the 10th minute on a breakaway, fending off defender Feng Xiaoting and beating goalkeeper Zeng Cheng with a low shot.

After seeing earlier attempts thwarted by stout Seoul defense, Guangzhou attackers were on the prowl following Escudero's goal. In the 19th, Gao Lin fired one from the right side of the box, forcing goalkeeper Kim Yong-dae to make a kick save.

Six minutes later, Elkeson took a feed from Gao but volleyed one high over the net.

The visitors' efforts bore fruit in the 29th minute, when Elkeson headed in a Huang Bowen corner to even the score, as the ball bounced in front of Kim Yong-dae and floated over the head of the diving goalkeeper. It was the Brazilian striker's fifth goal in fifth AFC Champions League match.

Guangzhou began the second half with more energy before Damjanovic thwarted the visitors' hopes of an away victory.(Yonhap News)
