“SK Networks will continue its efforts to enter Brazil that is a hub in South American market and is rich in resources,” he said.
This is in line with the SK affiliate’s global expansion plans. In May, it signed a memorandum of understanding with Saipa, the second largest state-owned carmaker in Iran, and in July with Myanmar’s Eden Group whose business scope ranges from hotels to gas stations and raw materials.
SK will export steel sheets for cars as well as complete knock down products manufactured by South Korean companies to Brazilian base of manufacturing and supply, similar to its Iranian operation.
Choi has cultivated a close relationship with the country, serving as an honorary consul since 2012 and chairing Korea-Brazil Society since 2011. And it was the third time he had talks with the interim president.
