[THE INVESTOR] The US branch of Samsung Electronics has secured a large logistics center near Chicago, according to business webzine Chicago Business.

Samsung leased space in this 36,000 square-meter building in the CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Joliet and Elwood, Illinois.

The tech giant reportedly signed a 5-year lease for about 36,000 square meters of CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Joliet and Elwood, Illinois, about 65 kilometers southwest of downtown Chicago.

Established in 2002, the Midwest warehouse spread across 25,000 square meter land sits near Interstates 80 and 55 and also offers easy access to railroads, allowing the tenants, including Swedish furniture company Ikea, to lower transportation costs.

Samsung Electronics America is headquartered in New Jersey and has branches in Illinois, Minnesota, California, and South Carolina.
