The Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., the nation’s largest power generator under the state-run Korea Electric Power Corp., has successfully implemented a new integrated management model, according to company officials on Sunday.

When the KHNP moved its headquarters to Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, early this year, the nuclear operator started to effectively implement a new management model to level itself to international standards.

The new management model calls for standardization of tasks and a clear designation of tasks while focusing on employee safety.

The KHNP currently operates 24 nuclear power plants around the nation and the number will increase to 30 as more nuclear facilities are under construction.

Recognizing the need for an upgraded and efficient management system, KHNP started to develop the new management system in 2014 by creating a team of specialists from different fields ranging from management, engineering and nuclear background.
