LG Electronics maintained the top place in the U.S. market for front-loading washing machine as of the third quarter ending September this year, according to the Korean electronics maker Monday.

The Seoul-based electronics firm said its cumulative market share by sales from January to September in the U.S. market for front-load washers stood at 25.6 percent, citing an industry report released by Stevenson Company.

Particularly In the high-end segment, consisting of products priced at $900 or above, the company’s market share by sales came in at 31.4 percent, twice as high as that of the runner-up.

The market share in the third quarter alone came in at 27.7 percent, the second highest for LG since the electronics manufacturer entered the U.S. washer market in 2003.

The company has topped the U.S. market for the past eight years since 2007 and gained further traction in recent years with its market share hovering above 25 percent for the past two years.

LG attributed the growth in the U.S. to advanced technology for the washing machine and excellent customer service.

LG will release its latest top-notch washer, Twin Wash, which features a top-loading washer under a front-load washing machine.

The company has been recently inundated by delivery requests for the twin tub washing machine from U.S. retailers, according to an LG official.

“LG will try to cement its leadership by coming up with new innovations, such as the Twin Wash, in the world’s most competitive electronics market,” Cho Seong-jin, the chief of the tech giant’s home appliance and air solution business division said in a press release.
