Pharmaceutical research firm Mezzion had the highest employee salary among listed Korean firms in 2014, according to data released Sunday.

Mezzion’s average salary was 121 million won ($111,600), maintaining the top spot for the second straight year after hitting 135 million won in 2013.

Korea Exchange came second with an average salary of 111 million won, followed by Shinhan Financial Group with 107 million won.

NICE Holdings, which first entered the list of firms with salaries of more than 100 million won last year, came in fourth with an average salary of 105.2 million won, and insurance company Korea Re came in fifth with 105 million won.

KB Financial Group, SK Telecom, Samsung Electronics ranked Nos. 6-8, respectively, all having an average salary of 102 million won. Korea Ratings and Korea City Gas placed Nos. 9-10, both with an average salary of 100 million won.

The results showed that although a pharmaceutical research firm paid the highest salaries, financial firms and large conglomerates took up most of the top 10 ranks.
