Seoul and Berlin agree to boost cultural exchanges

Aug. 14, 2014 - 21:28 By Korea Herald
The city governments of Seoul and Berlin agreed to step up culture and tour exchanges between the two metropolises, officials said Thursday.

Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon signed a memorandum of understanding with Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit to that end during his visit to Germany this week, according to the Seoul municipal government.

Under the agreement, the two cities will boost their cooperation in the fields of tourism, fashion and film, as well as personnel exchanges, according to the city.

Seoul will also seek further bilateral cooperation in the environmental sector, including electric vehicle production, Seoul noted.

The latest MOU replaces the metropolises’ 1997 agreement on strengthening cooperation in administrative, unification and economic affairs. (Yonhap)
