Lay, a Chinese member of K-pop boy group EXO, received a love call from China’s popular film director, Gao Xixi.
“Recently, I got to know about a talented and hard-working young man named Zhang Yixing (Lay’s Chinese name) who writes songs. My next two films will definitely have roles for him,” Gao wrote on his Weibo on Wednesday, expressing his desire to cast Lay in his future films.
Gao started off as a director for television, producing well-loved drama series “Legend of Chu and Han” and “Three Kingdoms.” He then broadened into film-making with the upcoming Chinese film “Lushui Hongyan” that features Korean actor-singer Rain.
Lay replied to Gao by saying yes.
“I was surprised. Thank you for the compliments. I really want to work with you too. I will keep on trying. Thank you,” Lay said.
Lay has been proving his potential as an emcee and guest on show programs. The K-pop singer also was highly complimented by star composer Yuan Weiren for his musicality.
