Kim Sun-woo signs with LG

Dec. 2, 2013 - 19:13 By Korea Herald
Former Major League Baseball right-hander Kim Sun-woo on Monday signed with the LG Twins, a week after being released by the club’s crosstown rival in the Korea Baseball Organization.

The Twins announced that they have inked the 36-year-old pitcher to a one-year deal worth 150 million won ($141,750). Last Monday, the Doosan Bears released Kim after back-to-back mediocre seasons.

Both clubs are based in Seoul and share Jamsil Stadium in the southern part of the capital as their home.

The Bears initially offered Kim a coaching position but he rejected it, believing he could still pitch in the league, despite going only 5-6 with a 5.52 ERA in 17 appearances in 2013, spanning 60 1/3 innings. (Yonhap News)
