“Saturday Night Live Korea” said Friday that it plans to exchange its crews with the original “SNL” show in the U.S. for one episode next year, a “special event” to commemorate the U.S. show’s 40th anniversary.

“Shin Dong-yeop and other regular members (of ‘SNL Korea’) will appear in the U.S. show while Fred Armisen and other crew from the U.S. counterpart will come to Korea,” an unnamed official from the show told local media.

He said both programs will feature the same guest star, who is expected to a be “world-famous star recognizable to both the Korean and American audience.”

The public relations team of tvN, a cable channel which carries the show, confirmed the report to The Korea Herald. “The producers of the ‘SNL Korea’ and ‘SNL’ are both reacting positively (toward the crew exchange),” tvN’s PR official said.

She added the details of the show have not yet been set.
