The icons of Korean hip-hop Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae have joined with fellow label mate rapper Bizzy to form the project group MFBTY, which stands for “My Fans’ Better Than Yours.”
The trio has released their first EP as a group titled “Sweet Dream,” which features three tracks: “Sweet Dream,” “BizzyTigerYoonmirae” and “Sweet Dream (SMELLS Like Money Mix).” The group’s debut album, which was released on Monday, shows off a different side of each member, projecting a more upbeat and intense club electro-beats image.
The album’s title track, “Sweet Dream,” jointly written by all three members, is an upbeat and fast-paced rap song. The full-version music video of the title track, also released on Monday, is a wildly animated video that shows off both playful and intense images of the trio. The “SMELLS Like Money Mix” version is a more club-heavy remix take on the title track.
“BizzyTigerYoonmirae” is a mid-tempo, bass-thumping hip-hop track, highlighting the rap skills of the members. The song was written by the famed American hip-hop producer Illmind, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the rap industry, including 50 Cent, Eminem and LL Cool J.
MFBTY will officially make its debut on the stage at the “2013 K-Pop Night Out MIDEM 2013” showcase to be held in Cannes, France, on Jan. 27. The showcase will also feature idol group Block B and singer/songwriter Juniel, who was awarded the New Rising Star Award at this year’s Golden Disk Awards held last week.
