An online clip of a Korean pair of siblings auditioning for SBS’ “K-pop Star 2” has become a hit on Korea’s major online portals.
The duet Akdong Musician, consisting of 17-year-old guitarist/vocalist Lee Chan-hyeok and 14-year-old singer Lee Su-hyeon, performed K-pop girl group MissA’s “Breathe” and their own creation “Don’t Cross Your Legs” on the first episode of “K-pop Star 2” on Sunday evening. The siblings and their family currently live in Mongolia.
With funny lyrics and the girl’s attractive vocals, the video clip of their “Don’t Cross Your Legs” performance swept Korea’s major local search engines Naver and Daum on Monday and Tuesday.
Judges of the show are BoA from S.M. Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk from YG Entertainment and Park Jin-young from JYP Entertainment.
Park called Chan-hyeok “a genius singer-songwriter.”
