Birthday gifts to give kids a lift

May 23, 2012 - 20:09 By Korea Herald
Volunteers are set to visit an orphanage in Eumseong, North Gyeongsang Province, to give out presents and play with children on Saturday.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with registered participants meeting at the Gangbyeon Bus Terminal in Seoul before taking the bus to the orphanage.

Children at the orphanage celebrating their birthdays this month will receive gifts from volunteers during the event organized by PLUR.

Those who are unable to attend ― the activity is limited to eight people ― are invited to donate presents worth between 20,000-60,000 won for others to take with them for the middle and elementary school students. Although gifts that donors have bought and wrapped themselves are most welcome, cash donations may also be made to the PLUR account for future purchases.

Those willing to commit to attending the event may sign up on the “Volunteer for PLUR!” Facebook page. Ideas for games or questions for further information can be sent to Leanne Han at leannelamonte@gmail.com.
