SaKong Il, chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, will discuss global governance in politics and the economy with leaders from around the world at a forum in Vienna, the trade agency said Thursday.
More than 150 heads of state, policymakers and scholars will take part in the World Policy Conference on Dec. 9-11 hosted by the Institut francais des relations internationales, a leading think tank based in Paris.
Participants include Heinz Fischer, president of Austria; Abdullah Gul, president of Turkey; Raila Odinga, prime minister of Kenya; Mario Draghi, president of the European Central Bank; Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council; and Christophe de Margerie, president of Total.
Participants are expected to exchange views on the challenges of the Arab Spring, Africa’s development and energy supplies, as well as the future of the Group of Eight and Group of 20 as governance institutions, the IFRI noted.
SaKong will also present Korea’s vision for a global economic governance system as an envoy of President Lee Myung-bak, KITA said.
