Ireland launches Asia scholarship

May 8, 2011 - 18:51 By
Education links between Ireland and Asia, and with it Korea, have been strengthened with the launch of a master’s business program at University College Cork.

The Irish Embassy said the MBS Asian Business scholarship is a one-year full-time program awarded by UCC and delivered in partnership with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and the Farmleigh Fellowship.

The initiative combines study at UCC and Nanyang Business School, which is consistently placed at the top of world and Asian rankings, with a work-study scholarship program involving Ireland’s leading companies.

Students spend three months in Ireland at UCC and the remainder of the year with Irish companies or organizations across Asia.

The scholarship covers the cost of tuition at both schools, return flights to Singapore, international health insurance and visas.

The scheme is co-funded by the Irish government, industry and the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs.
