Police are investigating a former Olympic judo gold medalist who allegedly assaulted a female massage parlor owner under the influence of alcohol.
The man, who is now a Yongin University professor, was booked without detention.
The professor visited the massage shop near his school in Yongin, south of Seoul, at 11 p.m. on April 26. He started to take his clothes off.
When the owner in her 30s, tried to stop him, he hit her on the face and body. He was taken to the police station.
He told police that he already apologize to the woman and that he had drunk too much.
She was hospitalized for treatment until April 29.
The university’s personnel affairs committee recently discussed the case. Its faculty disciplinary committee will convene soon to determine the level of punishment, the school said.
The university was at the center of a recent scandal involving student violence.
Video footage of seniors harshly beating juniors at its gymnasium was broadcast last month. Amid rising criticism, four professors face punishment for negligence of duty.

용인 모 대학교수 만취행패 불구속 입건
경기도 용인의 모 대학교에서 최근 상급생들이 후배들을 집단 구타해 형사 입건된 가운데 이번에는 이 학교 교수가 만취상태로 여성을 폭행했다가 입건돼 물의를 빚고 있다.
용인동부경찰서는 만취한 채 30대 여성을 폭행한 혐의(폭력행위 등 처벌에 관한 법률 위반)로 용인 모 대학 교수 A씨를 지난달 27일 불구속 입건했다.
경찰에 따르면 A씨는 지난달 26일 오후 11시께 술에 취한 채 용인에 있는 발마사지 가게에 들어가 30대 여주인의 얼굴을 때리는 등 행패를 부린 혐의를 받고 있다.
올림픽 남자 유도 금메달리스트인 A 교수는 신고를 받고 출동한 경찰에 의해 현장에서 체포됐다.
A 교수는 경찰에서 동료 교수들과 회식자리에서 과음했다고 말했다.
폭행을 당한 여주인은 병원 치료를 받고 지난달 29일 퇴원했다.
해당 대학 측은 최근 교원인사위원회를 열어 징계 여부를 논의하고 나서 A교수를 교원징계위원회에 넘겼다.
한편, 지난달 7일 버릇이 없다 후배들을 교육시킨다며 교내 무도실습장에 후배들을 집합시켜놓고 구타해 입건된 경호학과 2~4학년(06~07학번) 6명에 대해서는 3명(06학번)은 무기정학, 3명(07학번)은 3주일 유기정학 처분했다.
아울러 학생 지도.감독을 책임을 물어 경호학과 교수 4명에 대해 감봉 3개월의 징계 의견을 모아 교원징계위원회에 넘겼다.
