Feb. 19, 2014 - 19:50 By Korea Herald
South Korea’s No. 2 tech giant LG Electronics Inc. said Wednesday it has clinched a deal with U.S. entertainment company Warner Bros. to carry 3-D movies on its smart TV lineup.

LG said Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. will supply 30 movies in 3-D to “3D World,” a content market launched for LG’s smart TV models.

The blockbusters will include “Gravity,” “Man of Steel” and “Pacific Rim,” and the service will be provided in seven countries including the U.S., U.K., Germany, Russia and South Korea.

The company said it will also seek deals with other movie distributors around the globe to provide more 3-D content through its smart TVs.

LG Electronics has been making efforts to expand its smart TV business by promoting “Web OS,” a smart TV platform, at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 last month. (Yonhap)
