Hera’s 2012 spring look (Amore Pacific)
The biggest makeup trend for 2012 is well-moisturized, glowing skin to accentuate your lips with point colors. Try orange, peach tone lip colors this spring to add brightness and fun to your face, make-up artists say.
“Peach tone lipstick is the ‘it’ product for this season. However, you need to skip other colors when applying point color lipsticks. Use only eyeliners and mascara to complete your doll-like eye look,” said Lee Jin-soo, chief make-up artist for Hera.
The androgynous look from the 2011 fall/winter season has been replaced by feminine and sensual styles for 2012 spring/summer by adding more light, fresh and healthy-looking colors to the face. MAC introduced collections for the season including “Ath-elite,” a chic and sporty look to express transparent and young skin; “Ore-Inspired,” metal colors that match well with naturally tanned skin in the coming summer; “Nouv-eau,” inspired by romanticism and nature and “Neo-n,” a bright and intelligent look using fun, dynamic colors on lips.

Bobbi Brown’s “Rose Gold” look (Bobbi Brown)
“This season’s make-up trend is about how to create a look that is extremely sophisticated, realistic but naturally modern at the same time. Ultimately, it is to create a pure but glamorous look,” a MAC artist said.
Inspired by her simple and romantic wedding band, Bobbi Brown released the “Rose Gold” collection this spring that features shades of pink, roses, corals and plums. The cosmetic legend presented two Shimmer Bricks and an assortment of flattering lip colors and glosses.
“For this collection, I developed two new pretty flattering shades. Rose Gold ― a pretty rose with flecks of gold ― looks good on all skin tones and Wild Rose has a more pinkish tone for an added pop of color,” said Bobbi Brown in a press release.
When asked for tips on applying Bobbi Brown’s signature Shimmer Brick, the artist said: “For a pretty glow, after applying your blush, sweep a Face Blender Brush across all five bars in the compact and lightly dust the highest part of your cheeks. You can also use an Eye Shadow Brush to apply an individual shade across your eyelids, from lash to crease, for a subtle, iridescent look.”
