Feb. 24, 2015 - 20:22 By Seo Jee-yeon
Major supercar brands will join the 2015 Seoul Motor Show to be held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, from April 3-12, the exhibition’s organizing committee said Tuesday.

The committee said during a news conference that Italian supercar brand Lamborghini will join the nation’s largest auto exhibition for the first time, with three models.

Bentley Motors, a U.K.-based supercar manufacturer, will make a comeback to the biannual auto expo after eight years.

Luxury sports car brand Maserati, whose annual sales soared 469 percent last year in Korea, will display seven models at the show.

The top three import car brands in Korea ― BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz ― will display their premium models as well, the committee said.

Another highlight will be new car launches. About 33 new cars, including 12 concept cars, will debut at the auto trade show.

“Most of all, the 2015 Seoul Motor Show will seek to become a high-quality international auto show, blending art and auto technology,’’ organizing committee head Kim Yong-geun said.

For this, the exhibition will host an international conference titled “Car is Art” as a sideline event, with global speakers in the field like Dale Harrow, head of vehicle design at the Royal College of Art in the U.K.

“The event will also become a venue to encounter future auto technologies,” Kim said.
