LONDON (AP) ― Manchester United and Arsenal won 1-0 in replays Wednesday night to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup, while Chelsea’s Premier League title chances were set back with a 2-2 tie against visiting Southampton.

Wayne Rooney scored in the ninth minute at home against West Ham in his first game in three weeks following a knee injury. United next plays Fulham.

Arsenal needed Jack Wilshere’s 86th-minute goal to defeat Swansea and advance to a fourth-round game against Brighton.

After third-place Chelsea (12-4-6) built a 2-0 lead on goals by Demba Ba in the 26th and Eden Hazard in the 45th, Southampton (5-10-7) rallied as Rickie Lambert scored in the 58th and Jason Puncheon in the 75th.

Chelsea is 13 points behind league-leading United.

Manuel Iturra put Malaga ahead in the 25th minute after Barcelona goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto’s tentative clearance to Thiago Alcantara.

Lionel Messi, who has scored in the last 13 games he has started, tied it four minutes later with his 38th goal of the season and Carles Puyol put Barcelona ahead one minute after that with a goal off the back of his head following a corner kick.

Malaga played a man short after Ignacio “Nacho” Monreal was given a red card for cutting down Pedro Rodriguez in the 75th minute following a long pass from Cesc Fabregas.

Italy

Mattia Destro scored in the seventh minute of overtime, lifting Roma over Fiorentina 1-0 and into an Italian Cup quarterfinal against Inter Milan.

Alberto Aquilani, Borja Valero and Juan Cuadrado hit posts for Fiorentina.

Roma midfielder Rodrigo Taddei was ejected in the 117th minute, and Fiorentina’s Cuadrado and Roma’s Dodo were given red cards for a brawl at the end of the game, a fight that continued as they walked down the tunnel off the field.

France

Rennes beat visiting Montpellier 2-0 on goals by Julien Feret in the seventh minute and Mevlut Erding in the 51st to reach the French League Cup final and stay on course for its first major trophy since winning the French Cup 42 years ago. Rennes will play Saint-Etienne in the final.
