“The Great Gatsby” Broadway musical is off to a strong start in London’s West End, with its nine preview performances from April 11 to 19 grossing 4.75 million pounds ($6.4 million).

The musical, produced by leading Korean production house OD Company, is set to officially open on Thursday after its preview run at the London Coliseum.

Marking its first anniversary on Broadway this month, the production is gaining momentum for a global rollout, with a stop planned in South Korea this July, according to the company.

Interest from international markets continues to grow, with offers for original productions coming from Australia, Japan and China. Produced by Shin Chun-soo, founder and CEO of OD Company, the musical is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel "The Great Gatsby."

Upon its Broadway debut, the musical quickly joined the "Million Dollar Club," surpassing $1 million in weekly revenue. As of April 13, total ticket sales, including previews, have exceeded $67 million, with over 600,000 attendees and an average seat occupancy rate of 99 percent, the company said.

The production has received critical acclaim, earning best scenic design at the 68th Drama Desk Awards, and best costume design at both the 77th Tony Awards and the 73rd Outer Critics Circle Awards.

While the musical continues its run on Broadway, the West End engagement runs through Sept. 7 at the London Coliseum.

In July, the original production will premiere in Seoul at GS Art Theater in Yeoksam-dong. Following the Seoul run, a UD tour is set to launch in February 2026, with a European tour scheduled for 2027.
