The solo exhibition "Cows with Built-in Wi-Fi” by Hong Kong-born artist Mak2 (born 1989) is being held at Peres Projects in Jongno-gu, Seoul, until Feb. 15. The exhibition explores the boundary between the virtual and real worlds, raising questions about fiction and truth in the digital age through various media, including painting, sculpture and video installation.
The artist incorporates the virtual environment of the video game the Sims and employs humorous fake news narratives to expose the fragility of reality. Her works, characterized by surreal colors and pixelated textures, visually investigate how technology manipulates our perceptions.
Inspired by internet culture and social media, Mak2 continues to creatively reinterpret modern identity and communication. Her works encourage viewers to reconsider the meaning and role of art in the global digital landscape.
