Ju Ji-hoon, a Hallyu sensation known for his roles in cinematic hits such as "Light Shop" and "Kingdom," is set to debut as a courageous doctor in Netflix’s highly anticipated series, "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call."

Based on the wildly popular Naver Webtoon, the series delves into the high-octane world of heroic doctors as they navigate life-and-death situations involving criticially ill patients.

Netflix unveiled stills from the series on Thursday, offering a first look at Ju as Baek Kang-hyuk, a medical prodigy who heads a trauma team at Hankook University Hospital. The shots capture Ju in full medical regalia, and, in another, shows him confidently navigating the streets on a motorcycle.

"Baek Kang-hyuk is a fearless character who blends skill and intelligence. I felt exhilarated as he confronted injustice, and it was refreshing. It felt like a superhero story," said Ju via a press release, sharing his excitement for the role.

The released photos also feature Choo Young-woo, who is fully immersed in his portrayal of Yang Jae-won.

Yang, Baek's first student and referred to as his "slave," is a promising colorectal surgery fellow. Once on the elite track, he now follows Baek, battling to save critically ill patients and maturing through the experience.

Choo, who has earned widespread praise for his role in "The Tale of Lady Ok," commented, "During the filming period, this character grew alongside me. I believe my personal growth is naturally reflected in Jae-won’s transformation and development."

"The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" is set to premiere on Netflix on Jan. 24.
